Hi I am curious if the system considers also the the components of the PV when inputting the PVs by sqm

Hello, I encountered some issues while using the plugin. After completing the material mapping and clicking LCA in cloud, set units of Rhino document to meters occurs, but my model units are already in meters. How can I resolve this issue?

Hi! It depends on the system that you pick. There are EPDs which include all the components and there are systems that are made just for the PV panels. I’d recommend opening the actual EPD as it is up to the manufacturer to decide what they include.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us with your query.
The units in Rhino can be set to ‘meters’ by typing ‘Units’ in the command window and adjusting the settings. If you’ve already completed this step and the issue still persists, please send us your model for review at support@oneclicklca.com. We’ll be happy to assist you further.

Hello dear Steven
I recently got used to the old interface when it was changed. How can I use the same interface? Currently I have many doubts about the new interface and it is costing me time

Hi Mohamad!

We’re updating the interface for all our tools to a new version with significant improvements. This means the old interface will (unfortunately in your case) eventually be phased out.

Some of the performance improvements:

  • The new interface is roughly 10 times faster.
  • We’ve made major improvements to the search functionality.
  • You can now work with over 5000 data points per design, up from the previous limit of 500.

For a short time, selected tools will allow you to switch back to the old interface, it is possible your used calculation tool does not allow switching back anymore.

You can learn more about the new interface here → https://oneclicklca.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/11264475098268-New-Data-Input-Page-BETA

The new interface is still under development, but we’re working hard to bring it to full functionality. It will eventually have a similar feature set to the old interface but with significant performance improvements.

What are your initial thoughts on the new interface? Is there anything you’re unsure about or would like to see improved? I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Thanks,
Steven

Thank you for your reply
My problem with the new interface is that I can not find the replace and split option.
Also, in the previous interface, the translation was displayed when I selected the information within an EPD with the mouse pointer, but in the current state this is not possible for the Google Translate plugin.

Hi Mohamad. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are right about the replace and split option, this is not yet available in the new interface but it will be enabled in one of our next updates (this year).

This is interesting feedback regarding the translation not working, and I have not heard of this not working in the new interface. @Aliya could you look into this use-case?

Hi @mohamadhamed, many thanks for sharing your feedback! The replace function is indeed coming later this year while the release timeline for splitting resources has not been decided yet. We will announce both in the release notes once ready!

Regarding Google Translate, which browser are you currently using? I just checked, and the translations were working fine for me in the new interface when using Chrome. If you’d like to review this together, we can also jump on a quick call - feel free to book a time slot using this link.

Thank you for your answer
In your opinion, would not it be better to leave the software on the previous interface until the new interface is completed and the necessary options are added. Because this defect is causing a big delay in my process.
I use the Chrome browser. The Google Translate plugin works for me in the software environment. It is only disabled in the EPDs window

@mohamadhamed Sorry for the inconveniences and many thanks for raising this. As a temporary workaround, instead of replacing resources you can add new resources using the new search and then remove the unnecessary one. This flow should actually be faster in the new interface compared to using the replace feature in the old one.

If you are looking to replace multiple similar resources simultaneously, the temporary workaround would be very similar. You can add the same resource to the design multiple times. Then to remove all the similar resources that you no longer need, you can sort your data by “Resource name”. This way all the similar resources are going to be placed next to each other. Then you should be able to select all the resources you’d like to get rid of and click “Delete” to remove them from the design with one click. Hope this speeds up your work while we are working on the replace feature.

@mohamadhamed As for the Google Translate plugin, please let me know if I am following the correct steps. I have Finnish selected in my language settings and I am using GT to translate it to English. For me, the content in the data card is also translated automatically:

Please let me know if you meant something else. Also happy to jump on a call if needed.

Thank you for your patience and attention
See in the picture. Just as Google Translate translates your message in this way by selecting the text, it used to translate the words in the EPD window in the same way, but no longer.

Hello I am using a student licence, I could do LCAs until friday 16 of May and now I want to do others LCAs but my licence key doesn’t work anymore and I am 100% sure that it’s same and good one. Could you explain me how to solve my problem. Thank you.

Hi Louis, I have answered to your other message.

Hi! I’m looking to generate/download more customized/advanced numerical results data exports from the results page of my LCA, specifically for A1-A3 phases (I’m concerned exclusively with embodied carbon for the purposes of this question). The “Download Results Summary” is a very broad dataset. My end goal is to be able to see embodied carbon by Category, Family, and individual Material at various levels of granularity so I can identify the most carbon intensive components of my design. It’s my understanding that a lot of the work to produce these results is on the input end with accurate categorization of each material line item. Right now, I’m experimenting with manually setting material omniclass in the “Old Interface” “Building materials” tab, as there are many more specific omniclasses than what is exported from my Revit model to the One Click Cloud. I know there’s likely a better workflow. If anyone has good ways of inputting data so that you’re able to maintain Family information in results, and knows how to export numerical results data as an Excel sheet with line-by-line materials embodied carbon values, I would appreciate the help!

Hi Kaden, and welcome to the One Click LCA Community!

Unfortunately, we overlooked your post as it was added to one of the existing topic description posts. Apologies for that!

Yes, you can absolutely get the granular, line-by-line embodied carbon data you’re looking for. The key to achieving this isn’t in the export function alone, but in how you structure your data in Revit before you import it into One Click LCA.

Your current method of manually editing OmniClass fields after import is a common workaround, but as you’ve found, it’s inefficient and doesn’t leverage the data you already have in your Revit model. The best workflow involves using Revit parameters to carry your desired grouping information (like Category and Family) into One Click LCA.

If you have assigned these to one of the Revit parameters that include your model, during the import process (be sure to use the new import process) your custom Revit parameter can be used to populate the OmniClass (or other classification system, depending on used tool). This process is much more efficient than assigning these manually.

Any additional information you could export as a comment, this information will also be present in your Excel report.

Hope those help!
