What's new in One Click LCA in November & December 2025

Hello everyone,

We are wrapping up the year with a massive set of updates! We have combined our November and December releases into this digest to bring you up to speed on the latest tools, including major upgrades to the Data Input Interface, Carbon Designer 3D, and Portfolio Analytics.

Here is what’s new in One Click LCA.

:rocket: Top Highlights

  • New Data Input Interface is now Standard: The improved interface is now the default for Business and Designer licenses. It features simpler grouping, better import logic, and read-only mode indicators.

  • Carbon Designer 3D Upgrades: Now includes Free Drawing for early design flexibility (draw floor plans directly in the web interface) and enhanced MEP accuracy.

  • Portfolio Analytics Suite: A significant upgrade allowing you to track GWP trends, benchmark performance, and validate data quality across your entire portfolio.

  • Massive Database Expansion: We have added over 11,500 new verified EPDs and generics across construction and infrastructure in the last two months.

Platform & Software Updates

The New Data Input Interface

  • Now the Standard: The new interface is now the default view for Business and Designer licenses (excluding Japan), bringing improved navigation to the majority of users.

  • Simpler Grouping: A new dropdown menu allows you to group resources by column, replacing the drag-and-drop method for faster configuration.

  • Read-Only Visibility: New indicators clearly show when you are in read-only mode (e.g., if you have limited access or the license is frozen).

  • Smarter Imports: The import logic now prioritizes first-match or saved mappings even if units are incompatible, with a warning banner to help you adjust quantities without losing work.

  • Transparency: You can now view original source data to differentiate imported rows from manually added ones.

General Platform Improvements

  • Direct Company Invites: User Managers can now invite new users directly to the company account, even if the user doesn’t have a One Click LCA account yet.

  • AI Plausibility Checker: Coverage has expanded. For tools without GWP benchmarks, the checker now uses mass-based benchmarks to flag outliers.

Building & Infrastructure LCA Updates

Carbon Designer 3D (CD3D)

  • Free Drawing Mode: Draw and edit building shapes directly in the web interface. You can adjust perimeters and floors visually—great for early-stage modelling.

  • Enhanced Workflows: Visual Carbon View is now enabled for Generative Design and Free Drawing. We’ve also improved staircase logic and finish calculations for E-Shape buildings.

  • Regional Data Updates: Improved MEP accuracy with real-world components for electrification, telecom, and HVAC. New construction and structural options added for Japan.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Portfolio Analytics: Visualize performance with timeline views, benchmark against industry standards (CLF, YM), and use the “Project Plausibility Grade” to gauge data quality instantly.

  • Faster Detailed Reports: The redesigned XLSX format supports projects with 500+ inputs and generates reports significantly faster.

  • One-Page Reports: Create tailored, client-ready carbon summaries (now available in EPD Hub v3 and North America tools).

Compliance & Certifications

  • BREEAM v7: Fully aligned with the new interface for UK and International tools.

  • DGNB DE 2018: New prefilled XLSX reporting template to ensure consistency with DGNB 2023 tools.

  • Nordic Reporting: Automated, localized reporting is now available for Norway (NS3720), Sweden (NollCO2/MB4), and Denmark (BR25).

Product LCA & EPD Updates

  • Exported Energy Indicators: The IES EPD Generator now automatically calculates exported energy for electricity and thermal, removing manual steps.

  • Simpler Imports for Ecoinvent Users: A new standard import process for users with limited Ecoinvent access supports up to 5,500 rows and mapping outside data lists.

  • Private Data: Users can now specify impacts for French-specific categories (INIES) when creating private data points.

:electric_plug: Plugin Updates

  • Autodesk Inventor: A new integration enables direct export of bills of materials to One Click LCA, speeding up LCA and EPD creation for engineering teams.

:books: Database Expansion

We are constantly growing our data availability to ensure you can model with precision anywhere in the world.

  • New EPDs: Added 11,565 new verified industry EPDs across November and December.

  • Infrastructure Generics: Added 1,000+ new generic datasets for infrastructure materials and energy profiles.

  • WEEE Datasets: The WEEE LCI database is now fully available with 461 datasets for electronics end-of-life modelling.
