Data Import
- Multi-selection for faster import - Select multiple rows at once to map resources, delete, or ungroup them in a single click. Note: Multiple rows can only be mapped to a resource if they share the same filtering criteria based on the imported unit and class.
- Automatic unit conversion - Quantities and units are now automatically converted to match your project’s unit setting. For example, files with metric units will seamlessly adapt to projects using imperial units.
- Add comments importing a dedicated column - You can now add comments directly to a row, even if your imported files don’t include a ‘comment’ column.
- Enhanced UI experience - Enjoy a more intuitive workflow with the display of count and remaining rows after combining on the combine step along with other small improvements.
Materials Compass
- Bill of Materials Management - Manage your bill of materials with the new Lists feature in Materials Compass. Add quantities, units, and more
- Claim Your Manufacturer Page- Showcase your sustainability efforts! Manufacturer Pages are now publicly available, featuring all EPDs published by your company worldwide. Claim and manage your page today.
- Generate Sales Leads with One Click LCA - Capture valuable leads directly from your EPDs Learn how to add a lead generation form to your product pages
Product LCA & EPD Updates
End-to-End EPD Generators Updated with Ecoinvent 3.10.1
Our End-to-End verified EPD generators now use the latest Ecoinvent 3.10.1 data and EF 3.1 characterization method. This ensures your EPDs are based on the most current environmental data.
Ecoinvent 3.10.1 overwrites v3.10
We’ve updated all tools to use Ecoinvent 3.10.1, which fixes bugs found in the previous Ecoinvent 3.10 release. This update will be applied automatically to your existing projects, constructions, and data lists, ensuring improved accuracy and data quality. You can learn more about the Ecoinvent 3.10.1 update at ecoinvent Version 3.10.1
NEW! EPD Quality Checker: Improve EPD Accuracy & Efficiency
This tool helps you create better EPDs by identifying potential errors before verification, saving you time and reducing revisions. It currently includes three checks for mass balance, biogenic carbon balance, and energy balance. Access the EPD Quality Checker directly from the result page or when submitting your EPD to EPD Hub. The tool provides feedback in a new tab, and for End-to-End EPD Generators, it’s mandatory to address any highlighted issues before submission.
This feature is available to try for all users for a limited time and will move to the ‘power user pack’ after February.
EPD Template updates
-
- Aggregates and stone products: gravel, natural stone, stone slab
- Asphalt: Asphalt concrete product
- Bitumen membranеs: Bitumen roofing membranе
- Cement & building lime: Cement product
- Concrete, cement-based and masonry products: Cement plaster
Improved usability
Improvements to the new data input pages
- Introduction of a ‘simple vs advanced’ mode. We have made the UI more compact and added default grouping by classifications as an option.
- For performance reasons, designs with more than 500 resources will not be able to switch back to the classical UI.
Transitioning to the new import system for Excel import
To boost performance, we’re focusing on our new and improved import process starting in February. This means the classic Excel import process will no longer be supported for building/infrastructure licenses and the business package. But don’t worry! This upgrade is designed to be more efficient and user-friendly. Familiarize yourself with the new system here: Updated Import Process
Account security improvements
In a later update during this month, mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for new accounts is introduced to enhance security and prevent unauthorized access. MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a secondary verification method in addition to your password.
Local updates
Europe (specifically Italy) - Level(s) impact indicator extension
A new extension of the Level(s) tool introduces the additional EN15804+A2 indicators, which can also be used to pursue the Italian Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) assessments.
France - RE2020 update
A regulatory update to the RE2020 tool has modified the calculation of regulatory thresholds as a result of the publication of a new decree. For projects for which the Building Permit application date is after 01.01.2025, it is necessary to recalculate the thresholds on your designs (from the “Building description” page) to have the new regulatory thresholds. You will also need to download the new version of the RSET 2024.E1 file to generate a valid RSEE compliance file. For projects for which the Building Permit application date is before 01.01.2025 , you must continue to use the RSET 2022.E3 and the thresholds will remain unchanged, except in the case of the use of classified heat networks (see the list here).
Estonia - Updated calculation tool
Updated calculation tool supporting regulatory assessment method. This tool is a BETA version as it’s still under development, but it already meets the latest Estonian regulations and uses the required Estonian (EHEA) database. Reporting requirements will be added in a future update, making it fully compliant.
United States - California - New single design report
The CalGreen tool now allows you to generate a single design report, providing comprehensive data for CalGreen Pathway 3 compliance, including GWP values and threshold comparisons. The report also includes overall embodied carbon and full LCA results. This enhancement provides detailed insights and streamlines compliance with CalGreen sustainability standards.
Database expansion
- New industry data - 6201 new industry datasets were added, including the latest version of OKOBAUDAT.
- New generic data - 38 new generics added related to MEP and machine operations.
- New LCI data - Ecoinvent 3.10.1 is available and will automatically replace 3.10 datasets in new EPD tools. Find the ecoinvent announcement on why 3.10.1 was released here.
