What's new in One Click LCA in January 2026 (Release 2)

Update Highlights

  • Accelerate modeling with the New Data Input Interface now serving as the default for Manufacturing and expanded Building & Infrastructure tools.
  • Ensure regional compliance with updates for UK RICS v2 infrastructure, Australian Green Star, and French RE2020.
  • Streamline EPD verification through new mandatory data fields and automated EcoPlatform branding.
  • Improve data connectivity with automatic INIES ID recognition and updated Revit plugin capabilities.
  • Access broader environmental data with the addition of the ELCD database and CEPE v.4 datasets.

Platform & Software

Standardized modeling with the new data input interface

The new data input interface is now the default view for all Manufacturing licenses (excluding Japan) and an expanded range of AEC tools, including LCA for NollCO2, DGNB (DE 2023), QNG, PAS2080:2023, and EPD Hub North America. This transition unifies the user experience and provides access to modern workflow tools across more project types.

Faster resource editing with accessible action menu

Resource actions such as duplicate and replace are now accessible via a pinned menu on the right side of the resource table. This permanent visibility reduces click depth and increases editing speed during data entry.

This update will be available shortly after the main software update.

Building & Infrastructure LCA

Integrated financial assessment with Life Cycle Costing BETA

A new Life Cycle Costing tool is now available for user testing to support combined financial and environmental impact analysis. Access and feedback on this early-access capability can be provided directly via the One Click LCA community.

Automated transportation updates for dynamic LCA parameters

Transportation default values now automatically update for resources added in the new data input interface when global LCA parameters change. This automation ensures transport impacts remain consistent and accurate even when project settings are adjusted retroactively.

Improved data accuracy with Revit plugin version 4.0.10

The latest Revit plugin update enhances overall stability and improves the detection of tapered walls. Material Class (Mat) additional parameter data is now reported with greater precision, ensuring higher fidelity in model-based assessments.

Product LCA & EPD

Streamlined verification with mandatory fields and automated logos

EPD Hub tools now automatically include the EcoPlatform logo on the first page of reports. Verification rounds are reduced by making key fields mandatory, including place of raw material origin, production, installation, period of data representation, packaging mass, and transported product volume.

Flexible reporting with CFP format

We have re-introduced the Carbon Footprint (CFP) report format to the available outputs to support more detailed impact communication.

Simplified data management with merged construction types

Data form EPDs and EF 3.1 LCI are now consolidated into a single merged construction type: “Product LCA Construction (EF 3.1 & Specialised Industry Data).” Existing constructions are being migrated to this streamlined type to reduce complexity in resource selection.

Local Updates

Australia: Green Star alignment and concrete characteristics

The Carbon Designer 3D Australian region now fully aligns with Green Star requirements for early-stage baselines. Additionally, the Concrete EPD Generator now supports Australian-specific options for strength class (e.g. N20) and exposure class.

France: Accelerated RE2020 and INIES workflows

Data imports from RSEE files now redirect to the updated import process for advanced mapping capabilities. The import tool automatically recognizes INIES IDs for faster matching, and PEP background reports are now available in French to streamline market submission.

Norway: Full NS3720 compliance in the new interface

The NS3720 tool is complete within the new user interface and now supports “Additional scenarios” inputs. This ensures comprehensive compliance with Norwegian standards within the modern workflow.

United Kingdom: RICS v2 for infrastructure projects

A dedicated RICS v2 Infrastructure module is now available within the UK infrastructure pack. This enables assessments that align with Modules A-D of the latest RICS standards, with official verification currently ongoing.

North America: Modernized EPD workflow

The EPD Generator for EPD Hub North America is now fully supported in the new user interface, aligning North American EPD creation with the latest platform features.

Database Expansion

Broader data access with ELCD and CEPE v.4

The European Reference Life Cycle Database (ELCD) is now available as a free-access LCI database for all EPD tools (excluding NMD). Additionally, CEPE v.4 data for coatings and paints can now be added directly via general questions without separate queries.

Greater modeling precision with 1500+ new datasets

The database now includes 1544 new datasets. These additions enhance regional accuracy and material representation for both construction and manufacturing.

Expanded average data coverage with 364 new generics

We have added 364 generic datasets specifically targeting average emissions for products. This fills a critical gap for early-stage modeling where verified EPDs are rare.
