Should I input the recycled percentage of any materials manually?
The resources selected have recycling content but don’t show up in the circularity tool.
● Ready-mix concrete, normal-strength, generic, C30/37 (4400/5400 PSI), 40% recycled binders in cement (300 kg/m3 / 18.72 lbs/ft3)
● Reinforcement steel (rebar), generic, 100% recycled content, A615
Hi Ivan, the percentages are automatically filled if we have the information available. If we cannot get the information from the EPD, for some products we make assumptions. If assumptions cannot be made then it will remain unfilled and you will have to fill in the values yourself.
Do note that the percentages refer to the mass of the product, with concrete the only element we are replacing when the % of recycled materials increases is the Portland cement. This contributes very little to the total mass of concrete. We do not change the quantities for sand, gravel and water as these are unchanged in the concrete mix.
