Calculation of concrete structures

Hello,

I have a question about concrete structures.
I want to model concrete slabs, beams and coloumns.
I use ready-mix concrete from One Click LCA database. Does it automatically consider water, aggregates (such as crushed gravel) and energy needed for this?
Thanks for your kind attention and reply.

Hi Erika and welcome to the community! Our generic resources are modeled to include all components, and our ready-mix concretes therefore indeed consider all that is required to represent an actual concrete mix. The process our data experts undertake for this closely resembles the creation of an EPD for the product in question.

For a generic ready-mix concrete, we will include the following items:

  • Cement (E.g. Portland Cement) → and GGBS or Fly-Ash to replace the cement, depending on the concrete mix
  • Fine Aggregates (E.g. Sand)
  • Coarse Aggregates (E.g. Aggregates)
  • Water
  • Admixtures
  • Production electricity

Hope this helps!

Hi Steven,

thanks a lot for the quick reply!
The answer is absolutely clear!
