RICS second edition

Do you know if One Click LCA plans to update the interface to include a feature that allows users to selectively replace data resources within the Building Materials tab?

At present, it is not possible to bulk replace a chosen subset of resources. When the “Replace All” function is used, it replaces all instances of similar resources across every building category, which can lead to unintended changes. The only alternative is to manually replace each resource individually, which becomes time-consuming when dealing with more than 15 items. Introducing greater flexibility to individually select and replace specific resources would significantly improve usability and efficiency.

Hi Hiranmoy,

Thank you for your feedback. I’ve had a chance to discuss your request with our product managers.

The logic behind your suggestion makes sense. To ensure we’re on the same page, we need to clarify one point about the feature’s current design.

  • The “replace similar/all products” function currently requires all selected materials to have the same unit of measurement (e.g., all in m3 or all in m2). This is a safeguard to ensure that the original quantity (e.g., “10 m3”) remains valid after the substitution.

  • To clarify, is your request about partial replacement (e.g., replacing just 3 m3 from a 10 m3 line item), or is it about replacing products that have different units (e.g., swapping an item in m3 for an item in kg)?"

Please let us know if that correctly captures what you’re looking for.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Steven,

Thank you for your response. My request is regarding the partial replacement of resources (EPD) within the same units. For example, if I need to replace 5 out of 15 entries of ‘Structural steel closed section’, I would like the option to select only those specific 5 entries and click ‘Replace’, rather than updating each one manually.

Currently, the feature only allows me to either update entries manually or replace all entries with the resource name ‘Structural steel closed section’

Hi Hiranmoy,

Got it, thanks. That makes perfect sense. We’ll factor this into the update planning.

Appreciate the feedback!

HI Steven
Happy new year

Could you give us an update whether the above discussed request has been implemented or if OC has plans to implement?

Hi Hiranmoy, wishing you the same!

I’ve asked the responsible product manager for an update, I will update here when I have an answer.

Thank you for the update. Cheers!

Hi Hiranmoy,

Our team is looking at slotting that update into our Q2 roadmap.

We’re also working on a new feedback portal that will let you track the status of your requests and see exactly when we make changes to the platform. I hope to share more exciting news about that by February!
