Module A5.2 Benchmark Breakdowns

Good Morning,

Are there any breakdowns of Module A5.2 specifically targeting energy/utility consumption per site?.

There are lots of now out dated information from the 2000s so i am looking for a case study or if there are any ‘Carbon Heroes’ type benchmarks for Stage 6/7 WLCA (RICS V2) around energy consumption.

Hi Tom,

Regarding A5.2, industry-specific data is scarce. However, the RICS 2nd edition guidance offers a relevant scenario:

Average construction site activities (at 40 kg CO2e/m2)

I anticipate RICS will provide new scenarios based on BECD data soon. We’re also updating our Carbon Heroes benchmarks to include A5 data, which will allow us to create our own scenarios. I don’t have a release date for those yet.
