How to Add an EPD to the Database?

Hi,

My firm just started working with OneClick for our LCAs and ran into an issue with the Acrylic EPDs in the database.
The project we need the EPD for incorporates a large number of Acrylic panels from a manufacturer whose EPD is not in the system. OneClick’s Acrylic EPD has a significantly higher Global Warming Potential than the actual material and we submitted the EPD for inclusion into the database. It has been about a month already and the EPD isn’t in the database yet.

I mainly wanted to know how long it usually takes for an EPD to be uploaded and whether there is a way to do it manually on our end. What has been the community’s experience with uploading EPDs to the database?

Hi! Welcome to the One Click LCA Community Forum!

We include EPDs weekly (a couple hundred to a couple thousand a time) however the frequency of updates depends on the EPD program operator/database.

@Bernadette - Can you check what the status of this specific inclusion request is?

  • If the EPD is published on one of the frequently updated programs then usually it’s there within 1 or 2 weeks of publishing.
  • If it is a private EPD (not published or not validated), you can add yourself by using the ‘private data’ feature.

Do note that your EPD needs to be valid for the tool you are using, e.g. if you are working in Europe where the data requirements are either CML or EN15804+A2, and you are asking for an North American TRACI EPD to be added, it would be added but not enabled in the European based tools as the data standards would not be matching.

Hi there,

thank you for your post!

We received a request for the inclusion of the following EPDs last Thursday evening:

  • Rohm GmbH, Plexiglass solid sheets
  • F&F Concrete Mix SSC25355A - 2500 psi
  • F&F Concrete Mix SSC40345A - 4000 psi
  • F&F Concrete Mix SSC45343N - 4500 psi
  • F&F Concrete Mix SSC50340A - 5000 psi
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 4KS5NL - 4000 psi.
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 70STNL - 5000 psi.
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 70ST2NL - 5000 psi.
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 80STNL - 6000 psi.
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 65LW25NL - 4000 psi Lightweight

Concerning the plexiglass EPD, this is a CML data point and cannot be accessed by any of your tools that only allow for TRACI data (see why here). In tools that allow for CML data it can already be found.

The following three resources can already be found in the TRACI database:

  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 70STNL - 5000 psi. - Ready-mix concrete, 5000 Psi; Curing time 28d; Cement type: Manufacturer Specific, Mix 70STNL (Rockville Fuel & Feed Co.)
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 70ST2NL - 5000 psi. - Ready-mix concrete, 5000 Psi; Curing time 28d; Cement type: Manufacturer Specific, Mix 70ST2NL (Rockville Fuel & Feed Co.)
  • Rockville Fuel & Feed, CIP Concrete Mix 80STNL - 6000 psi. - Ready-mix concrete, 5000 Psi; Curing time 28d; Cement type: Manufacturer Specific, Mix 80STNL (Rockville Fuel & Feed Co.)

Please note that the linked EPD downloadable via “Download EPD” in the Data Card is incorrect (which was flagged to responsible colleagues), however, the data used in the calculation for these data points is correct.

I have forwarded all other mentioned EPDs to our Data Team for inclusion.

I hope these are the EPDs that you were referring to. Otherwise, I would ask you to please re-send us your previous request to support@oneclicklca.com.
