Energy and water consumption units measure

Hi there,

I am having trouble with the measurement units when entering the design’s annual energy and water consumption.

For instance, in a hot, dry region, I may utilize the baseline numbers listed by the IFC (2015) for educational facilities housing up to 1,500 students.

Energy: 72 kWh/m2 per year
Water: 50 liters per person per day

Would entering the necessary data in the OneClick gateway require me to carry out actions based on my design?

Energy: Multiply the area of my building by my base consumption.
Water: Take the product of my base consumption and the fictitious population times 365 days.

The reason for this is that, the OneClick site displays as the unit of measurement:
Energy: kWh annually
Water: m3 annually

Regards

Hi Ivan!

Your understanding of the input method is correct. We enter the total annual energy and water consumption values, after which your ‘calculation period’ set will multiply the quantities/emissions by that number.

  • Your energy consumption depends indeed on the area (GIFA/GFA) of your building and again needs to be annual consumption so 72*m2 GIFA.

  • Your water consumption based on your data would be 27375 m3 annually and roughly 290t CO2e for 60 years.

I hope this is clear and let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi again Steven.

Thanks for your reply, you got my point across. I was worried that my question wasn’t clear.

Now the units are clear to me.
