Water usage as an indicator

Hello there! I am looking for water usage and conservation (value usually present in the EPD), as an output for my calculation. Do we have in One Click any tool that can give me this indicator? I appreciate the help!

Hi Tavares,

Yes, you can. One Click LCA has many indicators that you can select for your assessment (other than GWP) one of them being freshwater use as long as you are using tools that have this function such as the Level(s) life cycle assessment tool. Other tools such as RICS/ BREEAM tool don’t have these indicators. Can I ask you what tool you are using at the moment?

Hi Leonardo.

Im working with this indicator now. Net fresh use of water.
What I am not sure is how the input (The water consumption, annual m3) is transformed into indicator results.

My annual consumption was around 600m3 and the Net fresh use of water indicator result is 56m3?
I imagined the annual consumption wouldbe multiplied by the period of study.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Neus! It seems we have missed your reply, my apologies for that.

The ‘annual consumption of water’ and the net fresh use of water are separate indicators. Annual consumption is the operational consumption/use of water, the ‘net fresh use of water’ indicator takes the values from the EPD, e.g. how much water has been used to produce the product the EPD describes.

The annual consumption you would fill in for a single year would then be multiplied by the lifespan of the building or product. Let me know if this is clear or if you have any further questions!
