Shale quarry operaton

Hi all,

I am creating and EPD which has shale stone as a raw material. Shale is quarried is transported to the manufacturer where it is crushed to correct sizes.

I have been wondering which datapoint / datapoints I should use when modeling this shale quarry operation. I don’t have exact data of the process to I have to use generic data.

There is this datapoint “Shale quarry operation (Reference product: shale)” but I am not sure what does that datapoint includes. My raw material is exploded with bulk emulsion so should I also add datapoint of that?

The datapoint “Shale quarry operation (Reference product: shale)” only includes the impact of land transformation as can be seen below.

As your raw material is exploded with bulk emulsion I would instead recommend that you use the datapoint “Limestone quarry operation (Reference product: limestone, unprocessed)” as a proxy for your raw material as this datapoint includes the blasting process.
