I am building a baseline model and using some materials from your database using LCA for LEED, US (TRACI) tool, but I also want to add materials with specific carbon intensities from 2021 CLF (Carbon Leadership Forum) BASELINES v2.
I can’t seem to find how to override the carbon intensity of the materials or create my own ones. And I also cannot find this info in the training modules or the forum, maybe I’m missing something.
Could you please point me in the right direction for this?
Hi Julieta and welcome to the One Click LCA Community!
If you are in your project that uses the LEED for US tool, click on ‘+Add Resource’ and search for ‘CLF’. This will display all the CLF resources available to you in the LEED tool.
I am fairly sure the resources should all be there, but if any are missing, I can ask our data team to add them. Do note that for a LEED assessment, these require full Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) emissions data. There are also CLF sets that only include Global Warming Potential (GWP), and those you won’t be able to add to a full-LCA tool. (For example, you can check Materials Compass or the Life Cycle Carbon North America tools to find all the CLF resources).
If you would like to add your own resources, you can do this with our private data feature. That would also be the way to use GWP-only resources in a LEED assessment. However, please be aware that if a resource does not generate emissions data for the other mandatory impact indicators, an assessor will surely flag that as problematic, and those resources would be disqualified from contributing to emission reductions in a full LCA assessment.
I managed to find the CLF resource, but I noticed it is not comprehensive and the carbon intensities differ from a CLF Baseline 2021 document I have. I will need support from your data team with adding other materials and understanding the variation in the data- How do we go about this?
And I am definitely looking for my materials to cover the full LCA emissions data required to comply with LEED ID+C requirements.
Could you point out specifically which resource(s) you refer to? I have discussed this topic with our data team and they’ve informed me that all that have sufficient indicators are enabled to the LEED tools, the rest are only available in the corresponding carbon tools. I’d need to dive a bit deeper into the matter.
Additionally they have also included the actual EPDs which the CLF benchmarks are based on, those you can also find in the database.
I have replied through email as the platform didn’t allow me to upload more than a couple of images/screenshots. Let me know if you didn’t receive anything.
That’s alright! If you sent the request directly to support@oneclicklca.com Then one of our Customer Success colleagues will be assigned to your request and take it forward.
I didn’t send it to support, I just replied to your message via the email version I get of it. where it gives the option to reply via email rather than this forum– See screenshot below.
Getting the required support has been extremely slow, literally takes a whole day to get a reply either through here or directly to support@oneclick . If you offer an international tool, it’d be great to have technical support available to as many time zones you service.
Unfortunately I have not received that email. Our support team does respond rather fast, and we cover all timezones however a large part of the support team is located in Europe. If you can send it over email to support@oneclicklca.com I will ask them if they can prioritise it.
