What's new in One Click LCA in May 2025

Update Highlights

Platform & Software updates

Easy creation of LCA reports in 10 languages with Level(s) tool

LCA reports with the Level(s) tool are now significantly more user-friendly and you can easily create a report in any of the 10 available languages Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish. You can also easily download the report in your preferred language based on your default language setting.

New data input interface available in more tools and with GWP visible for all materials

The new data input interface is now available in more tools, including LCA for Green Star (AUS/NZ), LCA for Green Star New Zealand (EN15804+A2), and Life Cycle Carbon - Global 2023. A new “CO2e” column is available in the view for building materials search results to indicate the material’s Global Warming Potential (GWP, A1-A3). All mandatory items across queries are now clearly marked with an asterisk for enhanced clarity.

Empowering early design with editable constructions in Carbon Designer 3D

You can now directly modify your existing constructions within Carbon Designer 3D, the early design tool. Simply right-click a construction to rename it, update its description, add or remove materials, or adjust quantities and units. This makes design iteration more efficient and eliminates the need to recreate similar constructions.

Boosting data accuracy with smarter and more precise mapping

We’ve introduced several improvements to enhance flexibility and precision in the data mapping process. You can now disable the unit filter in material search to access a broader range of options. New filters allow automated mapping based on the EPD Program and Data Type.

AI mapping has also been improved to support non-building materials and building technologies, and irrelevant columns are now intelligently excluded from automatic mapping.

Product LCA & EPD updates

New free tool to create carbon footprint declarations for ready-mix concrete products

We’re introducing a powerful free tool designed to help you calculate the carbon footprint of your ready-mix concrete products. This allows you to assess and benchmark carbon performance. You can also create self-declared Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) declarations at no cost.

The tool calculates Global Warming Potential (GWP) from cradle to gate (A1-A3), helping you differentiate your product while ensuring compliance with ISO 14067 and ISO 14021 Type II standards. You can also share LCA results directly with customers and prepare to get your EPD verified.

Scaling EPD generation with efficient site averaging for verified tools

End-to-End verified tools now support averaging data from multiple production sites when generating EPDs. You can select between “No averaging” (default) or “Multiple factories” to simplify documentation for regionally distributed manufacturing and increase EPD coverage.

Simplifying European compliance with enhanced INIES and PEP tool for France

The INIES/PEP tool has been updated to support more accurate and complete French EPD submissions. All EPD data is now available as input, calculations for Exported energy (Heat, Electricity, Gas) are handled separately, and the background report has been revised. More functional units are now supported, with additional improvements planned.

Plugin updates

Connecting design to impact with SolidWorks integration for Product LCA

A new integration allows you to import model and quantity data directly from SolidWorks into One Click LCA. The system automatically generates a Bill of Materials (BoM) from the 3D model, including material names, part and assembly names, volumes, masses, element counts, and assigned LCA classes. This helps you move directly from product design to environmental impact assessment.

Bridging construction management and sustainability with Presto integration

You can now transfer construction data from RIB Presto directly into One Click LCA for building-level LCA and carbon analysis. This integration streamlines data export from one of Spain’s leading construction management tools, reducing manual steps and ensuring consistency across your design and environmental calculations.

Local updates

Elevating Norwegian compliance with automated NS3720 calculations

Norwegian LCA tools now support updated national defaults aligned with NS3720:2018/G2:2024.

This includes revised transportation scenarios, installation wastage, service life defaults, new maintenance input options, and a 50-year electricity profile. These values are automatically available in the new interface.

Localizing Finnish assessments with accurate transportation scenarios

The Finnish low-carbon assessment tool now uses national defaults for transport emissions and distances. The update integrates factors from the Finnish carbon database (http://co2data.fi), removing the need for manual transport input adjustments and aligning calculations with national guidance.

Database expansion

Enriching your assessments with over 1,400 new industry datasets

The database has been expanded with over 1,400 new industry datasets. This increases data coverage across materials and production processes, offering more detailed and representative options for construction and manufacturing LCAs.

Broadening your modeling capabilities with 218 new generic datasets

218 new generic datasets are now available to support wider modeling needs. These include ready-mix concretes, temperature sensors, water meters, power transformers, and distribution transformers, expanding options for both product and building LCAs.
