Hi everyone,
I have a methodological question regarding modelling supplier-specific data in One Click LCA.
Let’s say I am using an ecoinvent dataset for a material, for example a magnesium sheet, because no supplier-specific dataset is available.
However, my Chinese supplier has provided me with primary data showing that their electricity consumption for producing the magnesium sheet is significantly different from the generic ecoinvent dataset.
My question is:
- Is it possible in One Click LCA to create a supplier-specific process starting from an existing ecoinvent dataset and replace only the electricity consumption (or other foreground data) while keeping the remaining background data?
- Or is the correct methodology to build an entirely new custom process using ecoinvent only for the background processes (electricity, fuels, transport, etc.)?
If the second option is the recommended approach:
- Is this possible with the EPD Generator license, or is an additional module or license required?
- Are there any best practices recommended by One Click LCA for modelling supplier-specific manufacturing processes when only partial primary data (e.g. electricity consumption) is available?
My objective is to develop ISO 14040/14044 and EN 15804-compliant EPDs while representing supplier-specific manufacturing data as accurately as possible.
Thank you very much in advance for your guidance!
