We are doing a manufactured product EPD. Some raw materials are supplied in bulk bags (FIBC’s) made of woven PP. Others are supplied in IBC’s. Re-useable bulk liquid containers. Should I be surprised that there are no Ecoinvent or other data points for these generic materials? How would you tackle it?

Great question. I see this often and I would suggest a PP fiber and a weaving datapoint combo to cover for the bulk bags. I would take this similar approach for the bulk liquid containers with the appropriate process and material.
I would suggest using ecoinvent datapoints for these.
I have seen a bulk liquid container / similar product EPD but it only reflects the +A1 standard so it is not the most useful in today’s standards.
