Hello, I am trying to use Carbon Designer to create a baseline for a data center. However, the building type section does not include this building type. Which would building type appropriate for an accurate comparison?

To point you in the right direction, could you let me know which reference building region and tool you’re currently using?
We actually launched a dedicated “Data Center” building type about a year ago, which should be available in your account. Prior to that, we usually suggested using a “Warehouse” template as a baseline; however, since data centers require much higher insulation values and significantly more electrical wiring, the dedicated template is a much more accurate starting point.
Once you share those details, I’ll be happy to take a closer look for you.
Hi Steven. I am using Carbon Designer v1 which came up when i went to create a baseline. The project is in Zone 4 and this is the list that populates. I am running the model for LEED v4.1.

Thanks for the letting me know. Unfortunately, Carbon Designer v1 is no longer receiving updates, which is why the data center option is missing. We actually plan to retire v1 later this year because Carbon Designer 3D outperforms it in every category.
I’ve already reached out to your account manager to see about adding the new version to your license. It’s significantly faster, more intuitive, and much easier to navigate.
