Dear Participant,

I am a Ph.D. student at the School of Built and Environment at Salford University. I would like to extend my invitation to you to participate in a research project that I am presently undertaking titled Evaluating Embodied Carbon Emissions: Developing a Measurement Model for Smart Building Environment Management in the UK. I am in the process of creating a measurement model to manage the smart building environment in the UK.

Purpose of the research
The project aims to investigate the perceptions and views of experts in the construction industry regarding embodied carbon management application in smart building construction, with the goal of reducing embodied carbon.

Do I Need to participate in the interview?
Participating in the research is completely voluntary. You have the option to opt out of the study at any time or decide not to participate in the process. Please take the time to decide whether you need to discuss this study with me, family, friends, or any of your advisors before deciding whether or not to participate.

Risk and Confidentiality
The University of Salford Research Governance and Ethical Committee has reviewed and accepted the project proposal and the ethical process has been endorsed. There is no risk or discomfort associated with participating in this research.

All the collected data will be private and confidential and will be completely erased after the results of the study are published.
