When using the “download ILCd+EPD” file it does not download a file, but opens a XML file with a lot of text. How do I come to a interchangeable file?
Hi Henrik! It seems we have missed your post, apologies for that. The ILCD+EPD is an XML file (and should be in this format) as it allows automation to ‘machine-read’ such files. This file format cannot be changed but you can export other types of files like PDF.
A description of ILCD+EPD I have copied below from the eco-platform website: Originally, EPDs were provided in print documents or digitally as static “pdf” format. To perform building environmental assessments using EPD data from pdf resulted in enormous manual efforts, since data from a pdf document can’t be read by software like building LCA tools. To allow automation digital EPDs were needed.
Digital EPDs in ILCD+EPD format are machine-readable EPD information stored in an XML file that can be used by building LCA tools. ILCD is a widely used data format developed by the European Commission. In order to integrate EPD specific information (e.g. scenarios, modules, type of data), extensions were added to the ILCD format. The resulting format got named ILCD+EPD format. The ILCD+EPD format has the flexibility to adapt to future requirements or different national specifications and underlying standards.
Can you let me know if you have found the filetype you required or if you still need help? Thanks in advance!
