Editing private data

Hello,

I created a number of private data, and i want to modify some of them to correct their names.

How can i do that ?

Thank you for reaching out.

At the moment, the functionality to directly rename or edit existing private data points is not available.

We currently restrict editing to ensure data integrity. If a data point were edited while it is being used in an active project, the data in that project would update automatically, which could cause unintentional changes to your results.

To correct the names right now, you can use the following steps:

  1. Download the data from the current data point.
  2. Create a completely new data point with the correct name.
  3. Add the downloaded data to this new entry.
  4. Save the new data point.

This feature is currently on our roadmap for next year. We plan to introduce a “Duplicate and Edit” mechanic—similar to what we currently use for Private Constructions—which will allow you to modify data without affecting the original files used in your projects.
